[Another post from my Dad, since I was too sick to attend the district conference where the first stake of the Church was organized in Albania, which is the main reason we came.] Wow, what a day of joy to have witnessed firsthand the organization of Albania's first stake, hopefully one of many to come! Lucy was my companion to the meeting, since Emily was still recovering. The Saints loved Lucy and kept coming up to her and pinching her cheek and telling her she was beautiful. I think she really loved the attention from these very loving people. Elder Patrick Kearon of the Seventy presided over the stake organization and did a fantastic job. The top picture is of Lucy and me with the new stake president, President Medlir Mema (next to me), among others. He is a wonderful man, and only 35 with a beautiful family, and 3 young boys. He was just a young kid when we taught their family the Gospel, one of the first families to join the Church. He will be a great stake president. The lower picture is of one of the new bishops (Ron Xhini) sustained today who we played basketball with as a young boy, and he joined the Church later. This is a land of miracles, full of faithful, loving, Saints. The Church is fully established now with a stake. The only thing missing now is a temple for which we will continue to pray.
